A group of sixty-three ancient Shaivite saints who lived in Tamil Nadu in India during the period from sixth to the eighth century A.D are called ‘Nayanmars’. Most of them are famous for their poetry in Tamil in praise of Lord Shiva-one of the Hindu Trinity.
